Birthday Noodles

Birthday Noodles
For the second straight year, in what is starting to look like a new tradition, we had noodles at Tsujita for Laura’s birthday lunch. Then we went to Mr. Hoshimoto’s to see the puddles. And play on stuff… Finally, we hit Blockheads for some dessert.  Read More →

The Lil’ Man celebrated eight (plus one more) nights of Hanukkah this year, with plenty of candles, latkes, dreidles and, of course, presents.  Read More →

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving 2012
If there’s a correlation to be drawn between a family’s gratitude and the bounty of its dinner table, then the numbers gurus would conclude with high confidence that we’re a very thankful bunch this year.  Lil’ Man was particularly thankful for the Radio Flyer Little Red Roadster that Adam brought him. Lil’ Man Turns Toddler

Lil' Man Turns Toddler

Mission Beach 2012

Mission Beach 2012
This week was time for our faithful summertime campaign to San Diego. And so, our fellow pilgrims traveled far and wide — San Francisco, New York, London and Paris—landing on Mission Beach for a few days of ritualized cavorting. The video captures the main action, but the photos, as is their bent, add on all those special elements that fall outside the frames.  Click on any thumb to cycle...

Lil’ Man and Sahana Go On a Date

Lil' Man and Sahana Go On a Date
Lucky and Sarmela came over this evening to help chaperone date night.  As shown above, things started to border on the bawdy but were, by good chance, cut short by Leon’s bedtime.  Incidentally, the chaperones were able to keep up a pretense of distraction while chowing down a Moroccan dinner of Tagine of Chicken with Preserved Lemons and Olives, Israeli cous cous with a fiery Harissa...

Beer, Burgers and Beverly Buddies

Beer, Burgers and Beverly Buddies
Memories fade and so it is important to make some new ones every twenty-four years or so.  Appropriately, then, Adam, Marlo and I organized a Class of ’88 “Beverly” Party today at Adam’s Hermosa Beach home.  The party could only be described as rad — owing in no small part, for sure, to an oversupply of burgers, a fair amount of booze, some blaring Whitesnake and 300 pounds...
