Coastal California: Sand Dollar Beach

Sand Dollar Beach

Three miles up Highway 1 from Willow Creek and few miles south of Gorda is the beguiling Sand Dollar Beach, a glistening crescent of pure, white sand yawning into a horseshoe cove of shifty sandbars. Sand Dollar Beach is one of the most beautiful and scenic beaches on the spectacular Big Sur Coast. It is the longest strand of sandy beach along the Big Sur coast. We visited Sand Dollar Beach on February 9, 2011, as part of our Coastal California road trip in celebration of Laura’s 40th Birthday.
